What’s your story, Tarzan? Here’s ours…
Yellow Hat – aka “Dad” aka “Chief Logistics Officer” aka “Chief Popcorn Consumer”
Yellow Hat has been getting us where we need to go for many, many years. His goal has always been getting us from Point A to Point B as efficiently and painlessly as possible. Back when Fastpasses had to be retrieved manually, he would make long treks across the park in order to secure those for our family. Now, whether it means driving us to the drop-off at a park, to the front door of a hotel, to the center of Disney Springs, or just wherever we need to go, his willingness to walk miles from parking lots or across parks so that others can save their steps is truly admirable. He functions best on a full cup of coffee and/or cherry Coke, and the only thing that really seems to slow him down is Disney popcorn… he just can’t resist it.
FigmentGal – aka “Mom” aka “Artist in Residence” aka “Web Designer”
For years her job has been to plan every detail of our trips, and this started out with large Excel spreadsheets full of activities and color-coded by park, dining, park hours, etc. Now that we have the My Disney Experience app to do all that for us, her primary role is to make sure all those dining reservations and FastPasses get made before the trip. She knows who is supposed to be where when. She serves as the chief liaison between Disney CMs and her family. Although she tries not to pick favorites, the Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian has one of her favorite treats, the pinapple juice with vanilla soft serve float. When she is not at Disney World, she can be found creating artwork of all kinds including many Disney pieces. Her architectural art pieces have been widely commissioned by clients across the United States.
Benix – aka “Chief Photographer/Videographer” aka “Master Pin Trader” aka “Creator of BenixToons”
Benix has been masterfully photographing and videoing our trips for years. His eye for capturing a special angle or some great detail no one else would have noticed is unmatched among us. In addition to these skills, he has an extremely keen ability to trade for terrific pins. Always one with an eye for minor details, his ability to spot a special pin across a crowded park is mind-boggling. If for any reason you look around and he’s not there, you can bet he will soon return to the group having traded for an amazing new pin. His artistic talents manifest themselves in his wonderful BenixToons, original cartoons that capture the essence of the funny side of a Disney trip. The only thing that he enjoys more than pin trading and photographing our trips is the Chocolate Wave at Coral Reef.
Zaerth – aka “Chief Backpack Packer” aka “Chief Research Officer” aka “Chief Mousear Wearer”
Zaerth has been carrying the family backpack for years… long before she was really old enough to do so. She just takes responsibility for making sure everyone has everything they could ever need, whether ponchos, fans, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, hats, water, lip balm, phone chargers and cords, and so much more. You name it, and it’s probably in that backpack. If there is anything you need to know about a resort — whether about the rooms, the amenities, how to get from Point A to Point B, what the reviews are, their food options, etc. — she can tell you. Her ability to research the wheres, whats, whens, wheres, hows, and even the whys of Disney resorts is truly astounding. She and Benix are never too far apart and are constantly cracking each other up with funny lines from movies or TV shows. If you think she’s lost, she is probably just hanging out at the Twinings Tea shop in Epcot’s UK pavilion looking for Cadbury chocolate and Irish tea.
